Odisha allrounder Priyatosh Paramanik received the 1st Rameswar Sporting-KANBA Young Cricketer of the Year Award 2012-13 in a function here at Old Town today. Odisha Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera presented the annual award, which carried a plaque and a cheque of Rs 10,000. He announced that OCA would provide a roller to help Rameswar Sporting Club maintain their turf wicket.
Paramanik of city-based Jagruti Cricket Academy represented Odisha and East Zone under-19 team in Cooch Behera Trophy, Vinoo Mankad Trophy and C K Nayudu Trophy. He accumulated 638 runs, including one century and four fifties from 11 matches. He also bagged 22 wickets with his leg-spin bowling.
Odisha and Sunrisers Hyderabad allrounder Biplab Samantaray, Odisha woman cricket coach Rashmita Mohanty and four leading cricketers of Rameswar Sporting Club _ Paresh Patel, Alok Mangaraj, Sarthak Siba Mohapatra and Pratap Sahoo _ were felicitated on the occasion.
Bhubaneswar Athletic Association secretary S R Parija, Rameswar Sporting Club president Suresh Kumar Routray, secretary Deepak Mangaraj and sponsors Kanba Business Solutions MD Alok Kumar were present in the function.
